Regarding the assassination of the Russian ambassador in Ankara and the attack in Berlin, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) issued the following statement:

"The KKE condemns the assassination of the Russian ambassador in Ankara, as well as the deadly attack in Berlin. 

These actions, regardless the specific objectives of the perpetrators, are a constituent feature of imperialist war in the 21st century and that applies regardless of the extent to which the activity of such organizations is formed with the support or tolerance of imperialist centers or is expressed as an element of the autonomy of these forces in relation to any powerful centers that strengthened them in the past. 

These actions and especially the assassination of the Russian ambassador are taking place in a period when the competition around the situation in Syria, for the control of natural resources and transport routes of strategic importance is sharpening; competition which poses huge dangers for the people. 

The people need to organize their struggle, their solidarity, their common activity, against the imperialist plans which utilize these actions in diverse ways."
