Commenting on the death on an ethnic Greek Albanian citizen in Albania, the Press Bureau of the CC of the KKE stresses the following:

"The events in the village of Vouliarates in Albania that led to the execution of a ethnic Greek Albanian citizen by the Albanian police must be fully investigated. Beyond that, the exploitation of the event by nationalist forces of both countries causes only worry and concern. Particularly at a time when rivalries , nationalisms which mutually fuel one another, and even discussions concerning border changes in the Balkans are intensifying. "
